Im having trouble growing zoas, they do well in my tank, they just dont spread. Can someone plz help me with growing them?? what do you feed them? how much and how many times? How much current? How much lighting?

i onley feed pallys and feed the zoas light and they grow jest dont move them

Please post info regarding your tank
Lighting
Flow
Parameters
Livestock etc....

WA in the house I agree with what was posted above keep them in there happy place they will grow some take longer then others. most zoas are not all that fast of a grower but when started they tend not to stop.

Zoas tend to like dirty water as well.
I backed off on the hours that my skimmer runs and my Zoas tend to grow better.

My zoa's like the water a bit "rich" as well, I find that if i can keep my nutrient exportation in balance with zoa needs and a non algae tank I can achieve good growth.
I have to say there is a fine line between the (what quickly becomes) extremes, and remember patience is the rule.

+1 on not touching them. also depends on the zoas. with some i get 3-5 polyps a month with others 4-6. you can also stress them by slightly pricking the edge of the colony. causes them to grow faster in order to survive. just another way to take advantage of evolution :]. personaly i dont do it but im thinking i might now lol

when feeding your fish, try using cyvclopeese and i also use phytofeast and oyster eggs a few times a week. good stuff.
as for growth some are slow. my rastas only grew 1 head in 3 months where my purple and red hornets grew5 each. go figure.

You didn't give us a lot to go on. A few other personal observations that may help. I've noted my ZOAs grow way faster in the tank I've had up and running for 2 years verses my new tank. Both have similar water parameters, lighting and flow. So if this is a fairly new tank it could have something to do with it. I know it sounds crazy, but I have seen this countless times with a colonly fragged and placed in both thanks. My older tank always grows them faster. Just something to consider.

I moved everything from my 75 to a 180 about three months ago. but im have been movin them alot to find where i want them. i will try to get the new param soon.
