Bought this hammer coral for a great deal.

Is this a gold or orange hammer?

It looks pale. What can I do to color it up? Move it closer to the light? Move it away from the light? Something else?

Has it been improving? Make any changes ie moving it up or down?

Very very nice collection!
Thank you. Decided to move it down. Color has remained the same. What do you think does it need more light or less light? I have it next to an orange hammer. The other two pictures are of my gold hammer. The price was so good I bought it so fast and can’t remember if it was a gold or orange hammer

I believe that's the color variation it is....I have one similar and it gets light pink/orange.

Pic with whites and then an orange filter.

But could be totally different.

I just got my first blue hammer with a neon mouth. I never knew they colored that way. I thought it was just a young head but the whole colony was like this.... Nature is crazy

My gold hammer - have tried it on the frag rack here at about 250 par for several months and then to it’s final spot low in the tank where it gets about 150 PAR and no difference in coloration

Very nice piece! Mine has more of a copper color at the tips but have been looking for one that is yellow gold
