Trying to make sure I’m using my new Hanna checker correct. They say to use exactly 1.0 ml of regeant but... it doesn’t really specify where that’s at on the syringe. I’m assuming I fill syringe to where the marks stop. Is this correct? And... I always end up with a small air bubble in the syringe. Is this normal and correct or am I doing something wrong? Thanks!

Yes I have that but when I put it on there it fills it foirst. Am I supposed to fill the tip and the syringe to the 1.0ml line

Thanks for fast responses! I’ve been doing it wrong all week. Lol! I haven’t been using the tip. The instructions don’t mention the tip

Thank y’all a lot! It’s actually not real far off from what I got the way I’ve been doing it. I’ve been getting 8.7 now I got 8.8dkh.

Something else to keep in mind with the Hanna checkers, don't use two cuvettes for the same test at once. Some will fill one with tank water and pre-mix a second one to make it easier, but variations in the cuvette glass can cause miss-readings.

You don’t have to use the tip. With it on or off you are still only putting 1ml in the syringe. So long at the bottom of the plunger is at the 1ml mark.

I have an additional question.
If I measure out exactly 10ml using a syringe, it goes past the mark on the cuvette. Should I use the mark on the cuvette or 10ml as the instructions say?

The water isn’t going above the line it actually called Capillary Action (surface tension) where the water on the sides climbs up the glass tube. As long as you look at the bottom of it crosses the line you are good to go.

I am aware of capillary action. What I’m saying is that when I put 10 measured milliliters from a measuring syringe into the cuvette, the bottom of the meniscus is probably 1-1/2 mm above the line
