I received my new tester today while I was at work. Opened this bad boy up and made sure it was calibrated. Then followed the directions to try and adjust the settings for SG and Temp. After cycling through the settings I hit the power button again to go back to testing mode and the unit powered off, then back on and now repeats the cycle continuously. I can't get it to stop and just power up to use it.

Anyone have any ideas on what is going on? Is it a bad unit? Did I mess something up? I tried removing the battery and letting it sit for a few minutes, it continues to cycle through the standard start up and then power off again.

Heard from Hanna on Instagram and they said they've never heard of this happening. They're going to replace it for me, but I'm still curious if anyone else has had this happen.

Nice that they are replacing it!

Anyone else have any issues with these?

I got one of their new conductivity salinity meters, and I presume that what you're talking about.

I haven't had ANY problems with mine whatsoever.

No problem here

I am concern with the testing results...I calibrated it twice..it shows 1.24 salinity where my refractometer and my lfs show my salinity at 1.26

This worries me..

Anyone else seeing that

Mine is the blue and white unit. It was spot on for all tests I did. Only started acting up when I tried to change the settings.

I just got one and can't seem to be able to calibrate. I follow the instructions and I keep getting an error. I have used 2 calibration solution packets and still get same result. Am I doing something wrong?

I’m having the same issue, and of course I’m three months out of warranty. Here’s hoping Hanna helps me out.

I have had one for roughly 4 week, I am having the same problem today!

I have had one for 4 weeks and I and having the same problem! This is why I won’t use Hanna checkers either! I guess I have to go back to my old Milwaukee unit!

The testers are great. This was caused by a malfunctioning component inside. Just reach out to them and they'll RMA it.

No issues with the replacement. Working as well as the day I took it out of the box.
Good to know but frustated w Hanna products. I also had purchased an alk and calcium checker and had issues right of the box and had to be replaced by Hanna. That’s 3 hanna Products in a row for me that had issues within 30 days of purchasing so I am leaning Towards product quaIity & reliability issues At Hanna.
