My 120 prob has 145 total water volume. I had this stuff come in a year or so ago and it’s completely taken over a rock my HW and a few other nice high end sps colony’s reside. I’ve pulled the rock and scrubbed and dipped in various things before and the attempt was futile. It’s now started to spread to other rocks and is in the process of a take over. It’s over growing some of the frag plugs I gave and I Jst want it gone. As I should be, I’m extremely uncomfortable running any foreign chemical in a reeftank and especially this one. I have a ton of high end sps in there. I got a packet of this stuff, Fembendazole, and have been told it’s very effective. Does anyone have any experience with this stuff? The pic shows a portion of this stuff up on my HW colony. Please provide feedback

Hmm.. I don't know that specific algae. Do you have any tangs in your tank? Wonder if they would find it a tasty snack.

Let's see if any of the others know... #reefsquad

It’s not algae. It’s brown star polyps. I believe they are called Atlantic star polyps but not sure

Oh, really? It looked like red gracilaria to me. Star polyps are a pain! Does this variety grow in a mat? I've had good experience peeling the mat back to remove them.

Yes matting and believe me I’ve done that. This stuff will be around after world war 3. It always comes back

I used panacur dog and cat wormer to kill green star , pulsating and blue clove
Iv a 350 mixed reef, many SPS , LPS , clams zoa , mushrooms
It worked brilliantly and I had no ill effects with anything other than the 3 I wanted gone
The green star receded into its purple Mat within a day and just start to disappear

Go for it you'll be happy you did

Yep same main ingredient
Did you have any Zoa or Mushroom in your tank? if so what was the effect? How long did you run it for, did you run skimmer, GFO, Carbon during? and any other info you can share is greatly appreciated. The ammount of anxiety I have putting this in has me crazy lol.
