I had good luck to squirt a mix of RODI water with MA (60-40) over them with a turkey blaster a few times.
Just a gentle squirt and turn all pumps off for 3/5 min.
Just keep a eye out on your Ph as it will lower it but will recover in a hour or so.

Btw, it works as well to kill all spores in a BA, just inject them with a syringe.

With @Diesel that is a possibility!

Either that, or some brand of hot sauce! :)

I'm not just saying.

You mean S&S sauce, hot sauce will raise your Po4.
Hydroids will also disappear slowly when you run ULNS.

and what is BA?? or BTW for that matter. sorry just not up on the acronyms.

the muriatic acid is not going to have an effect on my other corals in the area?
If you mix 4ml with 6ml RODI water and squirt gentle over the hydroids nothing can happen.
They will retract them self but the next day you will do it again.
Simple, easy, inexpensive and effective.

BA stands for Bubble Algae ;)

Muriatic acid is Hydrochloric acid. It breaks down into salt water when neutralized in your tank so no negative long term impact. Just the temporary drop in pH and small drop in alkalinity.

BTW is "by the way"

FYI, the amount used shouldn't give you noticeable drop on the Ph.

 FYI.......... (you saw this coming like a fastball on a lead of pitch) "For Your Information" :p
