I currently have a 100 gallon tank that has Ich. At this time no fish are showing signs but ever so often my Regal Tang breaks out. I am in the process of upgrading to a 180 gallon tank and would like to be rid of Ich permanently. When I upgrade to the 180 my plan was to move my live rock and all equipment. I also have come across a decent deal on a Bio Cube 32 that I can get if needed. Currently my 100 gallon has a Niger Trigger, Regal Tang, Clarki Clown, Watchman Goby, Chocolate Chip Starfish, and 2 anenomes. My question is without buying a lot of new equipment what is my best course of action to permanently rid myself of Ich? What about treating my current DT with hydrogen Peroxide?

I’m kinda in the same situation. I haven’t see much in over a year in my tank but I know it’s there. I’m going to be upgrading to 220 gallons soon from 125. U can treat the fish with copper move all your other stuff into your new tank and let it fallow for 74 days. That’ll get rid of the ich completely. I don’t quite know how it works if you do 100% new water. Not sure if it can live in the rock. My plan is to take my old LR and put in my sump so I can skip the cycle. Figured 100% new water would get rid of it but not sure

Ich and Velvet can "encyst" on any hard surface like tank walls, equipment, rock, stony corals, invert shells, etc.

+1 ^ All fish need to be treated with copper or CP in QT or TTM and simultaneously run new aquarium/existing equipment fallow for 12 weeks and then transfer fish into your new parasite free aquarium.

Ok so with the equipment I have, what would be my best setup? Am I ok just breaking down the 100 and moving the LR and invertebrates to the 180 with the fish going to the 32 bio cube for 12 weeks? Or should I use the bio cube for copper then use the 100 for QT tank? So many possibilities I can’t decide the best way to go.

Don't use the 100 gallon for QT. Migrate all LR and inverts over to the 180 and QT fish in the bio cube. Look out for aggression issues, you may need to add tank dividers.

Do you think the bio cube is large enough for my current livestock or would I be better off buying a 40 breeder? They want $175 for the bio cube.

I would get a QT going now and get all the fish in it now. So the fallow period starts with the old tank. It will need to be fallow for 12 weeks. The starfish and anenomies go with the rock.

Ok but what tank would you use for long term quarantine/treatment? 32 bio cube (can get for $175), new 40 gallon with HOB, or a used 36 gallon tall with stand, lights sump, skimmer and canister filter (I can get for $200)?

I like 20 long for qt. Reasonable swimming length and not a ton of water. At $20 you don't have to worry about them, or storing them long term

Ok for filtration on a hospital / quarantine tank would you do sump/skimmer, canister or HOB? I have all 3.
