Help with Ich

Ok I ordered bacteria in a bottle should come Tuesday I’ll quarantine with copper since my friend said that worked for him and wait 2 weeks. Sucks This is the second time my lfs gives me ich ‍♂ Im done buying from them

Most LFS deal with quantity, so moving fish in and out asap is their goal. They don't set up the normal procedures for QT like most members do. LFS typically have multiple systems, all connected which means if 1 fish gets ich, chances are, all their tanks have it.

I don't mind buying fish from LFS (as long as they are eating) -- I take it home and QT them myself. Buying from LFS, or online retailers, etc, you should always QT yourself (Unless you buy from people who QT for you at a higher cost. Quarantine.Fish, MarineCollects, etc etc). While they do charge a little more for the fish, it's mainly because they QT your fish properly via the 30 days of copper, prozirpro, etc etc.

Use copper power(amazon), that helped me with my ich situation 2 years ago, but in a separate quarantine tank of course. It took mines around 3-4 weeks to kill it, never came back again.

How bad was your Ich ? My fish only seems to have 2 spots on it and so far is the only one to contract it it has Only been 4 days Tho

regardless if it's 1 spot, or 20. The tank has ich, and will always have it in there, unless it's treated
Does it matter how long it’s been in the tank? i would assume it can only spread when it drops off right? Or does it spread as soon as the fish is introduced ?

I would say it wouldn't really matter to much how long it's been in the tank. Once it's in there, it's in your tank. You hear people talk about cross contamination, where they stuck their hands in their QT tank and then dipped it in the DT, and now the DT has ich, it's essentially the same thing.

Also the question you should ask yourself is..... are you willing to risk it? Let's just say the fish had ich, you noticed it after 1-2 hours, and you take it out. Since they are so small, you can't see if it went into sandbed for production etc..... is this something you want to risk for future fish being added etc.

True as of right now I have two blue chromis in the DT I don’t really care abt these guys because they are super aggressive and kill eachother off and fight for food and I am waiting To see if they get ich if not, I’ll be fine if so, I’ll continue to run the QT

It's not just about if they get ich or not. Some fish are strong enough to fight it off. Just because chromis doesnt get it, doesnt mean that a clownfish, or a tang wouldnt (If/when you introduce) --

If you have the ability to take all the fish out of the DT, its better to do it soon rather than later, so you can start the 76 fallow period.

Ok e

ok will do one of the clowns is picking on the other and is doing a deal to him is there anything I can do about that? Should I try and find a way to separate them? I also was thinking it was breeding or pairing behavior but I’m not sure the clownfish is attacking the stomach/side and that both are twitching which I understand is mating/pairing behavior allthough they should’ve been paired since they came from the same place and are like 3 inches
