Pick up a blue face angel from lfs and I noticed this growth or something just behind its fin. Anyone have an idea what it is or how to get rid of it? I did a fresh water dip but it’s still there. TIA

This appears to be bacterial and stemmed from an injury. It appears fish is in quarantine already and best treatment will be seachem Kanaplex. FW dip will not resolve this.Pick up a blue face angel from lfs and I noticed this growth or something just behind its fin. Anyone have an idea what it is or how to get rid of it? Just got it yesterday and not eating yet. Not breathing fast. Yes it is in quarantine. I always do a proactive qt. I have Kanaplex on hand and will add it. Thanks everyone.I agree that this could be an injury. I see two other suspicious areas though - the white spot directly above this and them the group of white spots at the beginning of the anal fin. The fish is also a bit more pale than I would expect and the trailing fin edges look a bit tattered....could have flukes.
Is the fish eating well and not breathing fast?
You should definitely give this fish a comprehensive, proactive quarantine process:
