Nitrates : 3
Phosphates : .07

this started recently and I can’t find a straight answer as to what it is. There are no bubbles, it’s photosynthetic (the shaded sand doesn’t have it) and it has some strings. It’s on my rock, glass, and sand. Today my corals closet up a bit but for the past few days they have been fully open.

im so worried this is dinos, but I think it’s diatoms too.

Diatoms and associated with new tanks and silicates.
lower white light intensity and siphon as needed.
Adding some nassarius snails and some blue leg hermit crabs will help

Thanks! So how long do diatoms usually last? Someone said something about giving them more light so they grow fast until they run out of food and die. Is this an advisable strategy too? The white were on only for the picture. Usually they are very low. Too low actually for my liking but that’s a topic for a different thread.
I dosed some microbacter clean to try to up my biodiversity, how likely is it that I’ll get green hair algae Next?

No- they can develop to algae or even cyano
