Hi I added a zoa and paly frag last week and noticed some new form of hitchhiker and was hoping someone can help me id these little guys. And if they're good or bad. This is the first I've seen of these little things scurrying about.

Did you can't get a better picture of hitchhikers?

I really can't see/tell what you're describing, but given that your tank is mature and the characteristic of "scurrying about" it may be that you have scored with some amphipods/copepods.

I think they are young amphipods. Probably just had a bloom. Natural food source for your tanks inhabitants, and help break down detritus quicker assisting in the tanks constant healthy cycle. Some people claim the bigger adult amphipods munch corals. I cant say so myself and I have tons of them. Great imo!

Possibly mysid shrimp?

Are we looking at the guys on the glass - long, slim, slightly curved? Or the similar critter that makes a dash across the cave entrance?

Bruce, Im thinking the critters running around on the glass.

Yea it's the ones on the glass they're I guess about an 1/8" long bristly looking light colored mostly just crawl on the glass but as you can see in the video they will make a dash or scurry.

I don't think they're Munnid isopods they look more like some type of worm or something sometimes the let loose and swim some. Maybe some type of bristleworm hatch or some type of shrimp hatchlings?
