Okay, so I'm new to these forums and don't know if I'm posting this in a proper fashion or not; if not, I apologize upfront!
My wife & I are the proud caretakers of a 75 gal mixed reef w/ a 30 gal sump/refugium. Our system has been up about 2 years. Unfortunately, our little ocean suffered about 5 months of neglect and we are in the process of getting everything back in business (this system has bounced back, to my surprise, with amazing results)!
Upon my initial "cleanup" I discovered this growing on the bottom of a dead brain. I placed it in the refugium. My question is... What is it?? Should I remove it?? I've never seen anything like it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

We just identified this in another thread. It is a white branching sponge. Your photo is better and you can actually see the osculum (the holes or siphons). It only filters water and is not a bad thing.

Hey, thanks a ton Mike J.
I thought it looked like some type of sponge... Just never seen one branching? Kinda cool.
Appreciate the response!

Yes, it is cool and not very common I'd assume. I have about ten different sponges in my tanks. I've never seen one of those in person.
