Noticed this brown “thing” on the bottom right outer edge of a frogspawn frag plug about a week ago and decided to watch it for a week and see what it was. It has somewhat grown. But I have no idea what it is. Any help is appreciated.

Break it off if you can or super glue the opening. It’s called a vermedit snail. They shoot out a mucus like net that they use to feed. Some people say they are okay, but if not properly maintained their numbers may overtake your tank and eventually become an eyesore. If I see one in my tank I break it with my fingers or use some kind of tool.

remove the frag from the water and break it off or superglue it and put it back into the tank.
Best of luck.

Vermetid snail. Can irritate corals. Remove manually.
