Trying to figure out what this purple stringy stuff is in my tank. Its been there for a couple months now. Doesnt seem to go away in the evenings or at night. Dont see any bubbles. I vacuum it out and it comes right back. Any ideas of what it is and how to stop it? Thank you for your help.

Probably cyano. If it has bubbles under it then I would be thinking dino's, but I don't see that in the photo's. Is your tank fairly new? This is a normal algae succession, especially in the first year of your tank.

Its cyano
Check your phosphate level, siphon and lower white light intensity. If it returns quickly, ChemiClean us a great defense against this stuff

phosphate is at 0.03 according to my Hanna checker. I will try lowing white lights and siphoning it out again. Thank you.

Looks similar it red cyano. That stuff grows extremely fast so try to get rid of it. Get a good reef safe algea killer, preferably Boyd Chemiclean.
