I don't think it's a mushroom, it's shaped differently. Need to know what it's is and weather it's good or bad.
Must be strong because its survived through nitrates and seems to be growing.

Kinda hard to picture it at the right angle..

Any ideas?

Could be mushroom, but I am thinking macro algae of some sort. In the last image there looks like another piece above the larger piece off to the left. One way to know for sure is to touch it. Corallimorpharia usually with drawl a little, macro algae will not. Try getting an image at another angel too.

I've tried googling all your suggestions and it don't look like any of them.
The only other info I can give is that my regal tang loves to eat them before they have chance to grow lol

To me that's the giveaway. It's a macroalgae. My tangs will not eat sponges nor mushrooms, but they will decimate any algae.
