As the title mentions, I would appreciate the help with identifying what it looks to me like dinoflagellates and possible solutions.
For the past month or so, I noticed a brown layer develop on the sand bed. I have not noticed a lot of bubbles and there are small mucus strands. This prompted me to get Hanna checkers to verify my parameters: Nitrates= 1.2, Phos=0.01, Alk=8.1, SG= 1.026, Temp= 76.8. I was shocked to discover very low nutrients and since then I have intermittently turned off the protein skimmer and begun to feed heavier. As of yesterday, the parameters are Nitrates= 7.0, Phos=0.06, Alk= 8.6, SG= 1.026, Temp=76.8.
I have tried using some of the identification guides out there but I cannot match it. Below are the best videos I could take with my phone of microscope views and tank. Any help identifying this and recommendations are appreciated.
