I set up my tank 3 days ago and I am trying to determine what is or may be dangerous on this rock.

Any help is appreciated.

All of these things are good or inconsequential. I'm going to post a couple.

The arrow here is pointing to cup corals. I don't know if they are still there or not, as I don't see the little tentacles, but you can always see the skeleton like that.

Red = Sponge
Green = Halimeda
Blue = Chaetopterid/Spionid

A lot of times the little tubes of the Chaetopterid/Spionid house a vermitid snail and you may even have some on there.

Blue = Sponge
Red = Button polyp.... could be a species of appy (different from the other and they are not a nuisance like the others so much) or a paly or a little anemone of sorts.

Thank you so much!! Such great info I really do appreciate it.

No offense but I would just get a new piece of rock like the foundation one you have. You have the opportunities now to set this thing up fresh why risk it? I've just had experience in the past with rocks like that and sure enough there's stuff inside and hiding that you might not want
