Can someone help me identify this. It was on Rock I got from a local Coral Store. It was live and in water for some time. Just want to make sure it’s not something I need to remove.
Thanks

That looks like a few zoanthid polyps. You can decide whether you want them or not. Some people like them, some people do not. Be careful if you handle them, though, since they can contain palytoxin.

I thought so. It’s my first tank and I just don’t want any of the pests you read about. I have other zoa and love them.

They look like zoas or palys like Soren said you can keep them or leave them all up to you. Do be careful if removing or fragging in the future some do contain palytoxin which can harm you if you it gets into your body. Other than that welcome to the feeding hobby and welcome to R2R!!
