My engineer goby must have had his tail get sucked into the powerhead yesterday. There is visible bone showing on the end of his tail. What can I do? Move him to the sump? Set up a hospital tank? What should I use to treat him?

Thank in advance for your help

If it’s as bad as it sounds, he should probably go to QT with antibiotics. Do you have any photos?

I saw it before I went to work, its pretty bad. If I put him in QT what medications should I use. All I can do is make sure it does not get a bacterial infection correct?

Yes, you can use things like Kanaplex + Furan-2. Also a 60-90 minute bath in acriflavine (Ruby Reef Rally) is a very good place to start between the DT and QT. It's an antiseptic that will also prevent infection.

+1 methylene blue would be another good antiseptic bath in this case, for an injury like this.

Kanaplex + Furan-2 would be my recommendation for antibiotics as well. Or Triple Sulfa is another good one, but a bit more harsh on the biofilter.
