anyone know if the Japenese acan is much more picky or harder to keep than Aussie and indo acans? I have several Acans which are doing great and having babies but the Japenese acan colony is receding on 2 sides. All acan colonies are under gen 2 pro radions that peak at 45% and are on the sand bed. No nitrates or phosphates. Mag, calcium and Alk are in line. I have tons of favia's that are doing great and sps that the polyps are fully extended and growing.

Do you have any peppermint shrimps in your tank?

What color is the skeleton. If anything other then white or brownish could be bacterial. I'v had issues in the past were the skeleton were pink/red. The only thing that helped was an iodine dip.

Possible it is begin stung by favia sweepers a night? Will it take food?

Perhaps try and H2O2 dip or Iodine dip.

sorry guys, i will get pictures up tomorrow. There are no other coral around besides acan colonies on the sand. The skeleton is white. I have several reef safe wrasse, hermit crabs and emerald crabs. No shrimp in the tank. It will still take food and the polyps still get nice and big.
