Hey everyone,

I'm picking up a Precision Marine Kalk Reactor w/ JBJ ATO + Aqualifter tonight and I haven't the foggiest idea on how to plumb it into my system.

From what I have read about this type of system, I need to use the ATO to get the reactor water into the tank, but this also acts as a topoff for my water level which in turn is sort of keeping salinity at bay right? If this is true, do I still need to go out and buy myself an RO reservoir for the RO water? and if this is true, doesn't it need to be plumbed into the reactor somehow? or do I need to refill the reactor manually?

I could really use some help from someone who has a similar system, this is all new to me!

You will use the jbj ato to control level in sump. Plugged into the ato will be the aqualifter pump. It will pump ro water from reservoir into Kalk reactor, which will just drain into sump

+1 and make sure u break siphon from pump to reactor AND from reactor to sump.

I forgot the one to sump and overflowed 10 gallons:(

Awesome thanks guys, looking at the PM Reactor I see it has an inlet and an outlet at the top, so the inlet is from a reservoir of RO and then the outlet is into the sump.

How do I break siphon? Check valve?

Also, the aqua lifter is pumping RO into the reactor or reactor into sump? do I need to be able to control another pump?

I also have an Apex Jr. so maybe I can program it to work with the power outlets.

The pump from ro reservoir to reactor (u can use a check valve or cut small hole in elbow in reactor and put piece of airline tubing. This will prevent kalk from back flowing into reservoir.) then as the reactor fills the other line will automatically overflow into sump no other pump needed, however, make sure this line is
A. Either above the highest reservoir level. Which will sound like tank is peeing every time it is topped off.
Or
B. put hole in line from reactor to sump (above water level of sump. This will prevent entire reservoir from draining into sump).

Make sense?
