I need some advice on led lighting for my shallow tank. The tank is 48x24x16.

I have two AI hydra 26's that are laying around and about a year old. Last years model not the new HD model. I have a local who has a hydra 26 (same model as my other two) for sale I'm considering picking up. I was thinking would 3 of these lights be enough or is that overkill?

The tank will be Lps coral with a few Sticks (sps) acro's.

Any advice from led experience reefers or AI hydra reefer that could point me in the right direction would be much appreciated.

Thanks, Kman.

I have two hydra 26s on a 90 gallon tank and it's not shallow. Growing sps like crazy if you position them how I have mine you won't have a problem with two. Don't have any shaded areas or anything.

Three would be super excellent coverage and not overkill. And you'll love it.
Might not need it but......

Look into a lux or par meter as I think you'll have a LOT of light available.

Thank you both for the reply's

If you don't mind can I ask what dimensions your tank is and how high you have the light mounted above the water?

Thanks everyone!
