Hey everyone,
I was just wondering if there was any other way to help with the levels other than just doing the water changes. For the short time in which I have had my tank I have been doing about 10-15% water change at lease once a week and also did a 50% water change when I first got it. I bought a test kit and the initial readings were a little high and got me a little worried.
Temp 78
Salinity 28 with 1.20 gravity
Phos 5
Nitrate 40
The phos and nitrate is what has me worried. Any help of advice that anyone has to get my levels to where they need to be. I am aware that the salinity is a little low but I will bring it up slowly when I do the water changes until it is where it needs to be.

Cut down your feedings for now, maybe bump up CUC. How many fishes and lbs. rocks do you have?

Thanks everyone for the information and help. I have done some reading about the vodka dosing but can't seem to find the amount to use for the different size tanks. I know this is prob a stupid question but I know I need to lower my Nitrates but do not want to hurt my fish or get them drunk.
