Hello, I just received my 84x36x30 aquarium and am starting to get everything set up. I was originally planning on getting 4-5 Ecotech XR30s, but now I'm thinking of getting a 48" and 36" ATI LED power module hybrid. Or possibly a 60" one with two separate LED modules on the side.

I'm not too sure how to handle lighting with the dimensions on the tank so I'd appreciate any thoughts on what I'd need for coverage on the tank. If this setup would work or any better ideas. I'm looking at making this somewhat of a mixed reef system.

I would think you would need 2 rows of 4 for xr30s for coverage.

You could do 1 row of xr30 and 2 bulb t5 on the front and back.

I would not do 1 60" and an led fixture on the ends.

Do they have fixtures for t5 bulbs that run 7ft? Or would it be alright if it doesn't run the full length of the tank?

Have you considered running 3-4 hybrids mounted perpendicular to the tank?
What kind of hybrids would work for this? Would it still be a good idea to use the ATI powermodules for this or are there any better/possibly cheaper alternatives?
10 AI Prime 16HD's.. ;)
$2100 plus mounts if wanted..
I hadn't really considered AIs before, I was mostly only looking at the Radions and possibly Orpheks, do those AI Prime 16HDs stack up well to the other LEDs? That seems to cost a lot less than the routes I was thinking of going.

I’d look at the Noopsyche stuff if you’re trying to keep the budget down. I just got 3 of the K7 pros for my 61” aquatic life hybrid. The Noopsyche hybrid is really well built but doesn’t come in 61”. Just 36” and 48”. I think there’s a 24” in the works.

How many Orphteks do you think would be needed for this? Would I need more than one row? It looks like Orpheks have a larger cover area
For my new build which is 240 Gallon display and over 300 gallons total, I'm using 4 Orpheks for sps dominant tank (Mounted vertical vs. horizontal). My tank dimensions are 72.5L X 30.5W X 25H. For your build i would go with at least 5... Just depends on what you plan on keeping, 5 will give you the flexibility of keeping sps corals
