Help with live rock. Please.

I ordered 90 lbs of live rock two months ago. Got the first 45 lbs that week. The other 45 lbs was on backorder. I cycled tank with first 45 lbs. I put the other 45 lbs in a Rubbermaid tub with heater and air stones. The tank is cycling. But 90% of color came off the lr in tank. What should I do ?

This is completely normal. Nothing is wrong with your system or the rock. the color comes from the algae that was on the rock, and it dies off during shipment. You're on the right track so far, just keep the cycle going! You could always throw the other half in the tank as well. It well go through another cycle, but the older rock will help the new rock cycle faster.

I was thinking of doing that today. I still haven't completed cycle

Should I do water Chang before adding newer rock ??

Nope. You don't want to change the water until after you cycle completely. The nutrients in the water are what fuels the cycle.

Probably be best to just move the rock and start ghost feeding the tank.
