Had this LTA since 08/23 and it initially settled where I put it and didn't move until yesterday. It started to disconnect from it's anchor spot a few days ago when a pistol shrimp dug a hole under the rock it was next to. Now it is on it's side and there appears to be damage on the foot and side. Need help identifying this and what to do to help it. Is it serious and/or a threat to the rest of the tank. I can move it to a QT tank that has minimal traces of copper (< 0.15 ppm) if needed.

Looks like its tissue has been torn. Those are the guys spilling out

Suggestions on treatment. Does it need to move to the QT tank? Only thing in there is a Candy Coral frag that I can move and a bunch of copepods.

A torn foot is generally a death sentence. Can you get cipro??

I'll be moving it to the QT tank and see if I can get some. I would hate to loose this animal it is so beautiful. Any idea on dosage? The Qt tank is a 20 gal.

I doubt cipro will do much if anything, sorry to say I don't think it will recover from that

I do have Maracyn Two on hand and a bunch of Cephalexin 500mg (Keflex substitute). Would either of these help?

As mentioned a torn foot on LTA is pretty much death sentence.
In the 13 years I've camped at nem forum on that other site, w/ focus on nems and much on LTA's, I can't recall seeing a single one come back from torn foot

Thanks for the quick response everyone. I've moved it to the QT tank and it is not looking very good. More of the insides are outside. I hate to loose this but I do have a Condi that is recovering from a fight with a Frogspawn. It lost one whole side of tentacles before it moved away. Most of that damage has grown back. Well you can't win them all.
