Help with Magic Carpet

Last week, there was a snail or crab underneath this mushroom. Since then, it has been deteriorating from the inside out. What should I do? Should I cut the good part out? Dip in iodine?

I suppose it could be splitting which would be sweet because these things aren't cheap. It sure is killing a lot of itself in order to do so if this the case. It was the size of a quarter when I got it 3 months ago though so it's a quick grower for sure.

I don't think that thing is splitting I could be wrong but it looks like a bacterial issue. I don't think it has anything to do with cuc.
