Hi,

Had this guy for awhile and it has gone bad after a trip away. Wondering what I can do to save it?

Thanks!

It could be a number of things. My first thought is that torch potentially stinging it, hard to tell how far away it is.

Have you tested your water to check parameters? Those numbers as well as your lighting information will help towards hopefully finding the cause :)

Parameters are all good within range.

I don’t have a light meter but it’s in the middle of the tank under mid-to-top of the tank. I have the Orphek v4 and have it on for about 10 hours peaking instantaneously at 60%.

Flow should be decent.

Let me try moving it a bit away from the torch.

Yes I was hypothesizing it could be my new dosing schedule. First since the tank is still kind of new, I have been adjusting things. Eg increasing buffer dosage. I was dosing about 30ml of my concentrated mix and thought it could be the doses that are causing the swing. So I spread it out to 24hr dosing only 1.2 ml per hour.

From time to time my Pom Pom would be irritated for now reason and I was also guessing it could be this. Perhaps I should spread out the dosing to even more times with less volume each.

Update: so it’s moved to a new spot with at least a few inches away from anything else. Shall observe a few days.

So I took a closer look at my parameters, could it be because I have very low nitrates @ 1ppm only?
