Help with my Apex WXM

Can someone help me set this thing up? Set profiles and get it working? Any help would be appreciated, I've read the instructions many times and it gets me nowhere. Thanks

Sure, Its easy. The first step is make sure your vortechs are up to date. when you turn on the pumps they flash n. The major revision is indicated by the number of green blinks while the minor revision by the number of blue blinks. For example, 3 green blinks followed by 1 blue blink indicates version 3. if you have a mp40 you need 1.5.

After this if you don't have this version stop and post here and i can help you update.

If you have this version or higher we can move forward with the pairing you have to clear out the pumps memory since it cannot be paired with any other pump. to do this
Clear The Memory
With the pump powered on, press and hold the Set and Mode buttons(about 3 seconds) until the pump’s LED flashes red/white/blue. Release the buttons.

Then

Press and hold the Mode button (about 3 seconds) until the pump’s LED flashes purple/red.

Release the button.

Press and hold the Set button (about 3 seconds) until the pump resets.

You Can now pair the pump to the wxm by doing the following

With the pump powered on, press and hold the Set and Mode buttons (about 3 seconds) until the pump’s LED flashes red/white/blue. Release the buttons. Then tap the set button If the pump was successfully attached to the WXM, the pump LED will flash blue/yellow if not try again.

Now that the pump is paired to the apex you should now see an outlet named Vortech_X_1 where x is the module number of your wxm

Now you need to program the pumps. to do this you need to go to the Configuration Then Profiles. You need to make a profile. Give it a name For example My first one is called Rcrest For Reef Crest Mode.
The Control Type should be Vortech. Then Set the Type To Reef Crest. and set the maximum intensity. It will look something like this.

You need to do this for all of the profiles you want. if you have 2 pumps and want to do anitsync mode you will need to make a seccond profile that looks like this

After you have your profiles made you need to then go to configuration Outlet Setup Select the Vortech You want to be the master pump and set the profile. My Setup is advanced so it looks like this

but you can do something as simple as Fallback RCrest Set RCrest were Rcrest is what you named the profile.

If you have a second pump you go to its outlet and do the same thing if you don't want antisync mode if you want to do antisync you can just do Set AntiSync (Or whatever you named the antisync profile)

Does the Vortech pumps have to be plugged into the apex outlets or can the vortechs be plugged into regular outlets to work ?

No, you do NOT need to plug them into the EB8. Regular outlets are fine.
