Hey all. Been away from the hobby for a while. But I’m about to get back in and I am about to order some equipment. So here is the list of equipment. I have not ordered anything yet. So please feel free to chime in I am pretty much a newbie again.

Tank: innovative marine EXT 75

Sump: trigger systems platinum 34. IM website says the interior dimensions of the stand are 32.37Lx19.31Wx 33.75H. But a local reefer has the same tank and put a trigger sapphire 34. (He did have to put the sump inside while assembling the stand so it’s pretty much locked in there)

Return pump: ecotech Vectra S1

Powerhead: two ecotech MP40WD and a backup battery

Lights: two Kessil A360x tuna blue

Skimmer: NYOS 160. Any input here would be great

ATO: I was going to get the Apex ATK, since I was thinking that one day I would get an Apex controller.

Heater: any suggestions?

Salt: any suggestions. 12 years ago I used instant ocean. But open to suggestions.

Any suggestions on an RODI set up??

Anything else I should add to the list for the initial purchase???

Hi, i think you're right on the money with your suggestions. I have the Trigger sump (30) and love it. I have 2 Ehiem 150W heaters in it, hooked to the apex. I ran Red Sea coral pro (Blue) for years and just started the switch to RPM Fritz, but everyone has an opinion on salts, just use what worked for you. As for RODI, i have a 5 chamber setup (3 Resin), does the job the manufacturer is Marine Depot, but anyone who makes them is probably good. I'm guessing you bought your sand? You might want to get a reactor for GFO or Carbon now vs. later if you get some GHA. Maybe a UV?

Thanks for the input. I will look at getting two heaters. I have not bought any sand or rock yet. What do you suggest? I was thinking something bigger so It doesn’t get blown around. In the past I never ran GFO. But I was looking at maybe running GFO or a bio pellet reactor.
