I got a Christmas wrasse a week ago. It’s in my QT tank right now. It was eating pretty good then slowed down and is not swimming as much now. It has developed a spot on its tail. Can’t figure it out. Any help would be great. Thanks

Is the spot on the tail the discolored area (flesh colored)? It looks like it may be an infection.

Kanaplex, metroplex, and furan 2 antibiotic treatments would be my suggestion.

It is not red, more flesh colored. I have furan-2. Now I have barley detectable ammonia in that QT tank. Will dosing Furan-2 be an issue? I could do a very large water change and possible put in ammonia binders

I’m going to have my wife pick up more furan-2 I’m about out. Should that do the trick or should I order something different

My wife just called and said it’s dead... :(

Sorry for your loss. Beautiful fish. Must have been a gram negative infection. :(

thanks, it was a stunning fish. I just wish I could have caught it earlier. :(

Thanks, @Humblefish
Do you suggest treating the entire QT now since there are more fish in the system?

Sorry for your loss :(
