. So I've noticed for the past two or so days that part of my hammer has been in completely inside, what would make them do this I've never seen it beforelike this . Looks like the spot is completely empty .

Do you see any brown slime coming from the Hammer?
Try to take it out just to smell it, if it smells rotten your hammer might be a goner. :(

Instead of thinking its a goner you could try to treat it for a bacterial infection. Worth a shot at least.

I did not see any brownish slime coming from it. It does smell unfortunately. I just don't know what happened to it though. I haven't had any major swings in any of my parameters. Just finished checking them. Only thing I haven't check is mag because I'm waiting on more to come in :/

I had one of mine do the same thing. One if the heads died and the other head is big and full.
It's crazy how fast things happen or weirdly things happen. It was all fine and good then next thing you know I look and it like that. At first I just thought it was mad about something but then it never came back out.

Got that right. At least it's not all dead...

There's not really a way to treat it other than Iodine dip.
I always had success when I cut the bad part of with a coral band saw as you need a clean cut and after dip it in Iodine to protect from a bacterial disease.

Sort of............ it been a long time a dipped a hammer or fragged one.
Google for treatments and how much to hear.

Just googled. Seems that there is a lot of topics for seachem reef dip. So I might give that a try. Or what ever similar they have at the store .

So I can't find any kind of iodine solution at my lfs. What else could I use that I can get local ?
