Hi fellow reefers,
I have a 40 gallon nuvo that currently holds zoas,a chalice and clove polyps.
My light is a hydra 26 hd that sits 13 " above the water. It also has a diffuser on it.
I really have no idea if the way i have it set-up gives me the par i need . Do i need to increase or decrease the power of the light?
Any help would be appreciated.

without a par meter, your best is to find someone who has a similar config.
Look into the PAR database on here.

It’s probably overkill as is. You might want to start it at 30% power and see how your corals respond. If they’re reaching towards to light, slightly increase the intensity each week. For reference, it’s safe to start black box leds out at 10% white, 30% blue.

What do you mean 30% power?

Rent a par meter or buy one. Nobody knows how much turbidity, or the level of oil sheen you have at surface. Your par numbers could be +/- 30%.

It’s mainly looking at the percentages of blues and whites. Without a par meter, it’s hard to tell exactly where you’re at intensity-wise but looking at the picture, I’d say you have it cranked up where it should be or at least close.
Thanks. Hopefully
