my tank started leaking so i had to set up a 40 breeder. in the mean time i had a 20 gallon tank laying around that i put all my fish in an about 10 lb of live rock the rest of my rock had to sit in a bucket outside dry. now its like i have a brand new tank and no pods for my mandarin he does eat mysis but i am told wont fully support my mandarin. what should i do to keep him alive. i was thinking of putting him in refugium with the rock i could save so he has something and buy pods weekly from my lfs till the population in the display builds up. any input would be appreciated.

order pods and if the fuge rock is healthy keep trading it back and forth. chato or a sponge too.

good luck. So glad he's on frozen as well.

If he eats mysis, I think that will keep him alive as mysis is very nutritious. Pod coming from a 10 gallon fuge might not be enough......

Where do should I order them from my lfs charges 16 dollars for a 14 ounce bag

bugs are always expensive.

you can also look at PaulB vacation feeder. it brine shrimp eggs in a container that hatch in the water.
to beef up the pod pop i sprinkle coral frenzy and or flake food on the chato or get it mashed up in the sponge.
you may also look at thier chato at the lfs. Its prob gonna have pods. and more diverse too. cope amphi and iso pods.

The option you mentioned is your best bet for now. AlgaeBarn and Coral Reefing Products are good places to start looking. Always something:rolleyes:
