So i finally stocked my tank with 2 ocellaris clownfish, Im in love with having life, i just had one question about feeding i was told to feed them every other day to keep the water parameters normal with brine shrimp, is that enough food for them or should i feed them more?

Welcome to reef2reef. No you need a wide vierity of food. I look at it like this I don’t want too eat chicken every day.

what would you recommend ?

Mysis, flake, marine cuisine, loads of different foods. Mine will eat pellets as well.

I would suggest LRS reef frenzy or Rod's original.

Those are good ones as well. Cyclops, rods also makes fish eggs that my fish love.

As many different foods as possible a variety in their diet is most beneficial. I would also recommend smaller more frequent feeding to help maintain water parameters.

Here is what I've been feeding my clowns.

whats there feeding schedule? and how do you feed them the frozen ? do you thaw it?

I have a automatic feeder that feeds them once a day. Usually I will feed them a tiny bit if I just happen to be watching them or doing something at the aquarium. I thaw the frozen food in a small container with tank water for a few minutes and just pour it in.

The frozen food I only feed a couple times a week.

I feed 100% LRS Reef and/or Herbivore Frenzy twice a day. I've used Rod's in the past and had fine results but I really like the LRS; dont have to rinse it at all and the smell easily rinses off your fingers. Huge variety of different foods in his stuff.

The best way to feed them at least once in a day. Mixing in frozen and live food will keep your clownfish happy and healthy for many years.

How big is your tank? How long has it been up and running?

With only two fish you shouldn’t have nutrient problems in a tank of that size.

I feed my tank 2x daily. I mix in PE Mysis 3x weekly and Formula 1&2.

I do Spectrum pellets, nori seaweed and mysis shrimp.
