Help with my Ricordea Shrooms!

So recently my ricordea have started to turn white at the tips of their bulbs. Not sure what this is. Don’t think they are bleaching, the light hasn’t changed. Parameters are all in check except Alk at 7.8 which is a little low. Any ideas?? Now have moved them a little higher thinking they are not getting enough light??

I think your alkalinity is ok - and I would guess its not the light - if they have been doing well under the same light before.

Have you made any changes?
Have you checked your parameters - salinity, nitrate, PO4, pH?
Have you done anything that could have changed the clarity of your water (i.e. changed the light) - added activated carbon, water changes, etc?

This happened to me a couple weeks ago - after I inadvertently allowed my salinity to climb too high.

Phosphate is a little high. Threw some chemipure in yesterday. Maybe that is it. Carbon has been running so cant be that. Ill monitor the phosphate and see if that goes down at all and if the shrooms react. Im not too concerned yet. pH is also at 8.3
