Help With Nano!

Hey R2R and nano enthusiasts!

My friend @Hunt3r has the Fluval Edge nano aquarium. In the discussion we had, his aims are to be able to keep coral involved in a mixed reef from softies to lps and more.

Here are the questions I have with the Fluval Edge:

1. Would an AI prime fit underneath the hood in replacement of the stock LED's? and IF so would there be any shadowing on the edges?
2. Should he just ditch the top of the edge (if it is possible) and just install an AI prime 6" above the water?
3. What Light do you guys recommend and possible mods to get this kick a** tank thriving?

I'm tagging along I'm setting one of these up too, because I picked it up on clearance. Are you using the HOB it came with for filtration?

Yes. I run it with ac20 but changed carbon to purigen.

Im playing with 3.5" above the water clearance and quarter in above the hob.

Is the water level adjustable? If you removed the top would the water level be at risk?

If you were to add an AI prime, would it be so close as to add any kind of condensation to the light itself potentially becoming a risk?

I don't have experience with that fluval tank. Just my own thoughts based on the picture and real life observation of this tank.

After googling "modified fluval edge" and then clicking on 'images' tab, i see a plethora of modified edges. Some equipped with sumps and different lighting. I think this would make for an interesting project that many would like to see the outcome. Good luck

The water is adjustable but not make of a difference because of theopening is only probably 6-8" wide. And if i add an ai it will close to being splashed on. The only thing im thingking of right now will be adding splash guard a plexi glass. But with that im worried about my oxygenation as before j over filled it and my ph went down. My lfs told me to keep and inch gap from the lip of my hob to the surface of the water.
