I recently purchased a hammer at LFS. I'm afraid I bought a dying hammer. It's staying recessed. Looked similar when purchased. I have tested all the water parameters and all levels are good. I have a new frogspawn, acan, torch, and zoa that all seem to be doing well.

Welcome to reef2reef !
How long ago did u buy it ?

Doesn’t look like it’s dying just yet I don’t see any dead tissue in the picture

What flow do I have it in ?

Welcome to R2R. Looks like a wall hammer (euphyllia ancora) and they can be a bit harder to keep. Medium light and low to medium indirect flow. Branching hammer (euphyllia paraancora) are typically easier to keep.
Thats the conditions I currently have it in. We will see how it goes. Thanks for the help!

Just give it sometime to acclimate and observe. I have the same type of wall hammer and I place it at the bottom middle part of my tank and it’s been doing great. I hope this will help.

You could always try a iodine dip as well may help it out if something is bothering it no allowing to open fully. Might help

Before reading this thread I thought I was the only one who couldn't keep GSP.

A dip would be a good idea if you haven’t already. It’s not ready to eat yet but be patient
