I have a new (3 month old) 45 gallon tank. Is it too late to set up a refugium?

I am starting to see some algae in my display tank (or what I think is algae)

It's never too late. I didn't set up my fuge until my 125 was probably over 6 months old. What are your NO3 and PO4 parameters? Also, are you planning to incorporate a fuge in your existing sump, or do something different?

By the way, Welcome to R2R! Why don't you wander over to the "Meet and Greet" section and introduce yourself. There are a lot of great folks here that would like to meet you.

Never too late. Actually more fish more waste and bio load leading to more nutrients for macro.

Afterthought, you may want to add pods into the fuge too. They are basically the bottom of the food chain that eats detritus, waste, rotting organics. Furthermore, they grow and populate and your fish and corals eat them. Place them in fuge or your fishes will decimate their population bore they can reproduce.
