Hello everyone,
I’m Sam, and new to R2R. So if I’m being non-relevant, please do excuse me.

Now, I been keeping aquarium for 15 years but reef tanks for like 3 years only now but they have never been over 50L(I know it’s very tiny, I’m sorry for that)! My Tanks (2 tanks) been amazing and had all kinds of fish and coral and they done amazing for 2 years! But suddenly things started going bad and I done all I could to bring everything back to normal but corals started to die out! So I gave them to my shop where I get marine supplies from! After explaining everything to them, they said it’s just best to get a new bigger tank! Everywhere I look also says go for the largest possible tank! Here comes my issue now:

I just got an aqua one 275L (pre-owned)tank! After getting it delivered, just by setting it up I got scared! It’s huge and sump is as big as the tank! I’m worried about leaks and starting up! Problem with my last tank was my live sand was not cleaned as much it should have been, but in this tank it will be very hard to clean the sand as it’s very deep and as tall as I am! I never had to deal with these kind of water leak issues or anything so I’m afraid that I may make mistake and may not set up the tank properly!
I will give exact name and pictures (if possible)of the LED light, return pump, skimmer and wave maker.

Any advice or any guideline would be highly appreciated.

Thanks.

Welcome to R2R!! For the most part size of tank is not going to prevent you from growing corals, I have a thriving 14 gallon tank.. however large tanks are more forgiving and stable. Chance of flooding is unfortunately part of the hobby but you can minimize the risk with careful planning.. there are also leak detectors you can install that will sound an alarm if you have a leak
