Long story short, I decided to give some long overdue love to my NYOS 220. THOROUGH CLEANING. How on Gods green earth do you get the impeller out of the pump housing? I did this last year and got to this step and blew it off at this point because I didn't want to break anything. I really want to give everything a good cleaning and get a good look at the magnet to make sure its in good working order. Is there some secret to releasing the impeller that I'm unaware of.

Any help will be appreciated

I've never had issues removing impellers before. They usually pop right out. This one seems to be "locked" in. Like there is some sort of release somewhere that needs to be triggered. I don't want to force it and end up breaking it. I'm a firm believer in "if it aint broke don't fix it" and this is a classic situation.

Have you tried posting in their sponsor section here? I just cleaned my 160 and didn't have a problem. Could be deposits on the back end of the impeller? Also, try running the pump in vinegar water for a short period, use warm water to help break things up.

Will give that a shot, the impeller on your 160 just "popped" right out?

Yes, I've never had an issue cleaning the skimmer. I've had it a year and I just cleaned it for the third time (routine maintenance goes a long way). Maybe after soaking in warm water it will come out? Turn it as you pull and maybe that will help? Good luck!
