Help with Octo Aq 3000 Return Pump

This return pump came with my Octo Lux T90 system. I can't figure out how to put it together. One of the rings has a 3/4 sticker on it - this would do absolutely nothing. There's another ring that's a little smaller. I know how to get the tube on the barb end thing...but then what? The other end fits in the smaller ring kind of snugly, but nothing would hold it in there. Wouldn't the pressure from the pump just shoot it out?
