I have a frag tank plumbed, lighted and ready to go, literally painted, and all done and working. Only thing is I haven't filled it with water or turn anything on.

Currently have a 55 bow display sps dominant and plan to add the 30 frag tank to it. Question is I could be moving in with my girlfriend in late May or June, so about 3 to maybe 4 months at the most. The frag tank is to obviously grow some frags out, but considering my colonies are not NEARLY large enough yet to cut or even consider cutting, its mostly for increasing volume / stability and giving me more room to put my LPS (it will be lower flow and T5 lighting).

Should I curb my anxiousness and not plumb it in, let everything in the 55 do its thing for 4 months, make the move and plumb it in then?

Is it worth it to mix up the water and let it roll, try out the frag tank and see if everything is working smoothly before moving so I know its good to go once I get my "fish room" in our new place situated?

What would you do? Im torn...

While it might not be fun, I would suggest waiting until you move.
You can't be sure (( unless you have already planned this out )) where the new tank is going, and where the frag tank will be -- all the plumbing you don't now might be for not. Also, it is a PITA to move tanks, and once less tank will make your life easier. Lastly, you could use the frag tank as a temp home while setting up the 55 in the new place.

never thought of using the frag tank as a temp home, thats a really good idea actually. thanks
