Help With Possible Hair Algea

It's a constant battle. I get it just right, lasts a few days, then I have to adjust it again. It's been that way since the beginning. Planning a manifold and getting a new pump. I have the Sicce 4 now and think its part of the problem

I have the varios S 6 reef octopus pump....I was going to get the EchoTech Vectra because I have EchoTech everything else, but my LFS said they had a lot of clients with issues with the Vectra so they suggested the varios....

One thing I'm concerned with is wether the CaribeSea Life Rock was enough, since I took all my live rock out. When I first set up a tank, the LFS had me adding Microbacter7 everyday for 4 weeks. The only thing the had me add this time was MicrobeLift Nite Out II.

Hmmmmm.....you might be on to something. It is possible that your life rock didn't have enough nitrifying bacteria infused in it or the bacteria was dead....I get why you went that route though. I used 80lbs of live rock from my 80 gallon when I upgraded my tank in January, and bought another 60lbs of live rock from my LFS. I only dumped two 32oz bottles of Fritz zyme nitrifying bacteria in the tank at once, the day after I filled it up. I never had a cycle. I moved my fish and coral from my old tank to the new tank 4 days later with no issues. I do think your numbers are good though.

No more hair algae!..for the moment. I had completely forgotten that my LFS also Microbe-Lift Special Blend. Combine that and 10 very large hungry Mexican snails and its gone. Thank you everybody for your help!!
