what are you feed the tank? The coral could be hungry? I feed reef nutrition products for my corals blended with my normal food.

I'm not familiar with reef dip, but I was under the impression that you are not supposed to dip anemones like you do with other corals. I don't know if reef dip is anemone specific, however, so feel free to disregard what I said.

Oh yeah I was skeptical at first but it states on my the bottle it's hard coral, anemone and polyp safe. It worked well on my ritteri anemones so I tried on the gig since I can't find where to get Criptoflauxin :(

okay so last night around 5 pm i got home from my grandparents house there neighbors a pharmacist and was able to get me cipro when i got home the anemone looked like crap but i decided to go for it take it out of my nem tank and set it up in a 10 gallon qt tank with a heater and power head and hope for best. it was attached to a rock so i put the whole thing in tank set up a full spectrum led 165w thats going to be for day cycle i waited until 7 for the led to go off i added 250mg per 10 gallon of water of cipro i went out returned home around 10 and the anemone looked even worse it detached from the rock and was half the size it was when i first put it in the tank i thought i was going to wake up to a dead nem. i just woke up and decided to check on it. to my surprise its half was inflated has its beautiful folds and its tentacles are about half way extended. only a few hours of treatment and the nem is looking really good i will post pics in morning and will document the rest of the treatment i have 6 pills 5 left i planed on 4 days of treatment with water changes before every night cycle right before i add the cipro should i do more than 4 days any suggestions ?

thanks today was day 2 so far so good. he inflates at night has long tentacles and closed mouth but deflates by the time i get home from work:(

Should start stop deflating- which would be a good sign. Sometimes takes a few days. The key is to catch the infection in time.

i just administered 3rd dose after half water change.here is a pick of what he looks like after 5/6 hours after treatments. he moved off the rock so i took it out.

thank you i really hope he makes it i have a jumbo size blue coming either this thurs or next im gunna either treat him right away or wait to see if he shows any signs of deflating before treating im definitely not going to put him in the same dt as the purple after or before treatment. i ordered an amoxacilin based bacteria treatment will this also work like the cipro?

Yeah- most definitely don't put them together unless you plan on continuing treatment. I've never tried amoxicillin. I would probably stick to cipro. You can get it on eBay or from fish supply places under the name Fish Flox. They will transmit the infection from one to the other in same tank.

yeah thats what i was worried about. i found the fish flox i just wanted to have that other medication in case i ever have the problem of the bacteria becoming immune to cipro. i guess ill have to experiment with the amoxicillin. see if it works i have quite a few magnificas one that looks like it might be developing an infection its in quarantine so it wont be able to infect any other nems.

Another proven one is Septra (160/800). Treated the same way every 10 gal. water.

yeah i herd of that one from my professor i just couldn't find one that i could get without a prescription.

awesome thanks for site! and my blue gig came in today he looks awesome ! i used reef dip got the last 30 min of acclimation to try and kill any bacteria that might be on him I'm not going to copra him unless he needs it :) this is a pic about an hour after i put him in the
