Hello everyone,
So Tuesday night everything was fine with my purple tang, she ate like a pig like normal and took a poop while eating dinner like normal. Wednesday morning I could not observe her due the lights being out when I leave for work at 530am. When I got home at 330pm (wed) I noticed she has a few white spots on her and she was acting a little strange with her swimming. I can’t really describe how she was different I just knew she wasn’t the same. I feed my orange storm and black storm clowns like normal when I got home, She was eating the pellets also but not quite as aggressive as normal. So then refilled her sea veggies purple seaweed (that she had eaten while I was at work) and she really didn’t touch it. When I got home from dinner I noticed she still hadn’t touch it and she was hiding from me (not normal). I then decided to pull her and put her in QT, after getting the QT tank up and going I put her in. She immediately started swimming upside down and face down in the corner of the tank, she did this all night long. When I got up for work I checked on her she was sleeping pretty much upside down in the corner of the tank at the top by a cord to the heater. When she noticed me she gave a quick swim to the middle of the tank just to stop by the filter intake and got sucked against it and didn’t move until I poked at her. When I got home from work today (Thursday) she was still swimming upside down and all goofy but I did not notice any white spots. I decided to give her a FW dip, when I put her in the bucket she was just floating upside not moving and she pooped on herself. After about 1.5-2 mins she started swimming right side up. I pulled her at the 5 min mark and nothing was noted coming off her. Now she is swimming a little better (not upside down at all) but she is still not eating. When I put fresh seaweed in she was looking at it like she wanted it but didn’t touch it.
Little more back ground she was in the DT for 31 days after being QT’ed via TTM. The only other tank mates were the 2 clownfish which were in their for about 1.5 months before she was added and they were QT also before they were put in the display. I added a few new hammers and a new Scoly on Saturday to the display and they were not QT as I didn’t realize coral could carry stuff on it. I have always dipped all my corals in coral RX so I thought I was covered (newbie mistake). So 4 days after corals were added is when I noticed the white dots. Tank parameters were all good SG 1.026, ammonia 0.003 (seneye), PH 7.9, nitrites 0, nitrates 5. Temp 77.5-78. Tank has ATO and AWC.
What should my steps be if any? I have the following on hand.
Prazipro
Metro +
Cuprion
Methylene blue
Malachite green
hW-odin-ex
ICH-X
Will have Copper Power tomorrow.
