Hey reef2reef. I am trying to find out some information in regards to some plumbing stuff. I have a barbed fitting that's 1in and I am trying to figure out what FLEX/SPA PVC size would be used to connect to it. I've tried searching around the internet how ever no luck and from all the sizes that I am seeing @ lowes/homedepot I don't think they will be any justice in me finding the correct fit. Can someone kindly let me know what size they deem would be an appropriate fit.

Welcome to R2R! So you are looking to find out what size hose will connect on the barbed end?

correct sir. I can measure it and post a pic of the dimensions.

Yeah, the vinyl reinforced flex hose is popular among those who don't want to hard plumb with pvc pipe. It can be a little tricky to work with and it helps to warm it up to increase the flexibility of the hose to get the correct bends/angles. It is used both for drain into sump and from pump back into the tank. Or sometimes some like to use a combination of vinyl flex and pvc.

I've plumbed with hard PVC before on my drain and the curves and everything else creates a slight trickling noise. I am going to give the soft plumbing a try and see how it works out for the drain.

I am going to gamble with the 1inch and see how it works. Wish me luck.

Need some clamps or zip ties to make sure that hose doesn't pop off in the middle of the night. Yikes!

Yes. BRS also has a "soft silicone tubing" that works really well for quieting down both "pump out" and "drain in" situations. It's a bit pricy. I use it. You use doubled zip ties to hold the hose onto the barb fitting. Cheers!

If you use a heat gun and warm the soft tubing it will shrink a bit as it cools and hold w/o using a zip tie.
