I hope someone can give an advice with a red montipora digitata I bought 6 months ago.

When I bought it in the LFS it was its red was intense, I placed in the bottom of my RSM-500 to avoid burn it with the HD Hydras. But it does not matter if I place it in the light or the shadow, if I increase or decrease the lights, the thing does not grow or die nor gets its color back.

It is located at the bottom of the tank (28” depth) and lights are 8” AWL.

My water parameters I believe are good but not perfect, I test the water every two weeks at least and make monthly water changes (1/5 of the total volume):

Ca = 420
Mg = 1600
KH = 10.4
NO2 = 0.1
NO3 = 0
pH = 8.0

The lights are Hydras HD, working on these sets:

I must all the other SPS and LPS are doing good.

Any advise will be appreciated!!!

You need to move it up off the sand. It’s not getting enough light.

I got a digitata frag and placed it on the sand until i had time to place it. i had the same issues you are having until i got him up closer to the light.
