Help with return pump

I just got my sump and overflow in the mail today and come to find out my return pump is way to strong what’s a good return pump for this setup.

I’d drill it if it’s not tempered. That and go with a modular marine, synergy, or Fiji, overflow. I wouldn’t be brave enough to try a hang on. Can’t recommend a pump because I don’t know what that things rated for. I usually shoot for 3-5 times turnover through the sump. Opinions will vary. Tons of pumps out there that will do the job.

varios 2 or similar sized return. The key factor is if it’s a DC pump you can adjust the flow rate without installing valves. AC pumps are cheaper, DC are just better.

I’d also recommend DC. Much quieter and adjustable. I’ve run a Varios 8 and Varios 6. Both nice and quiet. Also been running a Sicce since 2017 with zero issues.
