so i am leak testing my tank and sump and all my plumbing. In my return there is a hole in the 90 deg fitting that connects to my loc line. Water just blows threw it and its really loud. Can i just plug it or what is it used for ? If anyone knows anything thatd be awsome. Thanks

That's an anti-siphon measure. It's there so if the power goes out, the return line doesn't turn into a siphon and overflow the sump.

I wouldn't completely plug it, but that does seem like a lot of flow coming through that little hole though. Is there something restricting flow through the locklines?

Nothing is restricting the flow the loc line is clear. How much flow is suppose to be coming out of there ?

Three options:

1. Plug it and drill a hole just below your water line.

2. Plug it and make sure your sump can handle the back siphon in the event your pump goes out.

3. Plug it and install a check valve on the return line between your return pump and bulkhead.
I plugged it and checked out the sump if it overflows. I have plenty of room and it doesnt come close to over flowing so i am going to keep it at that. I will just have to keep and eye on it. Thanks guys for the help

Awesome. Just watch out for that skimmer if the water level raises it will most likely overflow.
